Mission

Water treatment is taught as a set of procedures to follow, and that is why so much of it is run by people who cannot say what the numbers mean. A technician can hold a target range without ever being shown the system that produces it.

This book takes the opposite position. Every calculation here is worked in the open, every model says what it assumes, and every chapter is followed by problems that check whether the reader can actually run it. Understanding is the product. The tools are what understanding lets you use.
